Mr Biff the Boxer The Torch Theatre, Milford Haven, Dyfed, Wales is a repatory theatre drawing performers and shows from all over the British Isles. Mr Biff the Boxer was a production by the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven in 1991. This was a Christmas show produced for infants and juniors. It is based on the story by Janet & Alan Alhberg of Mr Biff the Boxer who is challenged to a boxing match by his old friend and rival Mr Bop. Mr Biff is desperate to return to his former fitness but his waistline has slipped. So with the help of his family and the dog he gets training hard, ready for his triumphant return to the ring......Luckily for them both, they are not as young and fit as they used to be so it all ends happily in a tie! For the Torch Theatre's production of 'Mr Biff the Boxer', Mimics Productions designed and made the stage set and props. The fabric set sat on a raked stage, with two flats to the rear to hold up the folded pages of the set to create a back wall. The dog kennel doubled on stage as a table for the musical directors keyboard and there was a real wooden picket fence. Sally of Mimics Productions was a set painter and prop maker for this production. |
